Hi Dave

Sorry for the slow reply. Yes it still exists, but they don't have any way of booking, you just have to turn up. Vieng Pouhka is a VERY quiet town, there is no way they'll be full. More likely you'll be the only person staying, and the only tourist in town ;)

Very interesting and timely article for me. I am going to be coming to Luang Namtha in mid January and intend to do a few days cycling, preferably with a guided group, but on my own if I have to, thanks.

Hello Andrej,

I have been very impressed and inspired by your efforts in Luang Namtha. In fact I met you this morning and I wanted to press you for more information on what other crazy falang could do to helpy out. My wife and I have been traveling China for the last 3 months but as soon as we crossed into the country of Laos and then arrived at Luang Namtha we knew we had clumsily stumbled onto what we have been looking for. I have this crazy idea about finding a small village and helping to setup tours and build a wood fired pizza oven serving delicous Beer Lao. Seeing the bricks and sand in front of your forest cafe and then you telling me you are in fact building your pizza oven I have to admit I was somewhat dissappointed to hear someone had beat me to my idea, but relieved that others have thought similarly, maybe if you are willing you could continue to share with me the ways we might be able to be of greater and lasting assistance to these wonderful people.

I hope we can have a chance for some dialogue these next few days. If not please contact me via email :
jonthnraffaeli@hotmail.com
Sincerely
Jonathan Raffaeli
